On Constructive Criticism

I can be a bit of a critic. I'd like to be able to only read perfect stories and spend all my time gushing about how awesome they are, but the reality is that such stories don't exist and so I inevitably find something wrong with stories that I feel compelled to bring up. Nor would I have it any other way. Regardless of my desire to see the fantasy I related above come true somehow, I recognize that stories written by imperfect humans are going to be imperfect as well. This is normal, and I like to think of it in terms of something I learned in math class: no number, no matter how mind-bogglingly large, can ever come close to infinity. All a
